Cobb & Coach Driver
Privacy Policy
The Cobb & Coach Driver app is used by chauffeurs who drive for Cobb & Coach. It is not a consumer app: every account is created by our operations team for a working driver. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what happens to it.
Location — including in the background
The app collects precise location data to share your live position with dispatch, even when the app is closed or not in use — but only while you are on duty.
- Collection starts when you switch yourself online and stops the moment you go offline, sign out, or your session expires. Off duty, the app collects no location at all.
- While location is being shared your phone says so, and the two platforms say it differently: Android shows a permanent notification (“Cobb & Coach — on duty”), and iPhone shows the location arrow in the status bar. If you can see that sign, sharing is on; if not, it is off.
- Our server keeps only your last known position — each update overwrites the previous one. We do not build a history of your movements.
- Your position is visible to Cobb & Coach dispatch staff on the operations map, and is used to offer you nearby jobs. It is not shown to passengers and never sold or shared for advertising.
Account and trip data
Your name, mobile number, email, vehicle and licence details are managed by operations as part of your engagement with Cobb & Coach. Trip records — pickups, drop-offs, times, fares, payments you collect — are business records of the bookings you drive and are kept for accounting and settlement.
Notifications
The app registers a push token (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging) so dispatch can reach you with job offers and trip changes. Delivery logs are kept for up to 90 days, then deleted.
What we do not do
- No selling of personal data, no advertising, no data brokers.
- No location collection while you are off duty.
- No access to your contacts, photos, messages, or other apps.
Security & retention
Data travels over TLS. Sign-in tokens are stored in the encrypted store your phone provides — Android's Keystore-backed storage, or the iOS Keychain. Account and trip records are kept for the duration of your engagement and as required by Singapore law; you can ask for your account to be deactivated at any time.
